You can configure accruals for each leave.

Here's how you can setup

  • Head to the leave section --> click on "Leave types"

  • You can create a new leave or edit the existing one by clicking on the edit button.

  • Once you are in the settings, head to the 2nd tab "Accrual settings".

Let's go through each setting:

  1. Leave balance

    • Unlimited: if you want to skip adding quota to the leave.

    • Limited: If you want to assign quotas and accruals.

  2. Accrual period

This setting has a dropdown menu: yearly (once a year), half yearly (once in 6 months), quarterly (once in 3 months), monthly, and Twice a month.

It defines the accrual cycle as to when will leaves are credited to the quotas.

  3. Annual leave count

This signifies the total number of leaves that will be accrued at the frequency you have selected in the "Accrual period".

For eg: if you add accrual period as monthly, annual leave count as 24, TimeDive will add 2 leaves in the leave quota at the beginning of every month.

  4. Rollover count

The number of unused leave balance that can be carried over to next year. Let's say if an employee has leave balance of 7 and the count setting is set to 5, 2 leaves expire and 5 leaves will be carried over to next year.

    • If you don't want the leaves to expire, you can set it to 365.

    • If you want the leaves to expire and reset the balance, set it to 0

  5. Max accrual

The maximum amount of leaves an employee can have in the balance.

    • If you don't have a rollover count, you can ignore this setting.

    • If you have added a rollover count, you can set a cap on max accrual allowed. The cap means the maximum balance that can be accrued.

  6. Approval required

    • To auto-approved the leave, disable the setting.

    • To send leave request to manager for approval, please enable it.

Here's an article explaining how to approval works.

  7. Hourly leave allowed

Your employees can required leaves for few hours (for eg: 11 AM to 1.30 PM)

  8. Half day allowed

Your employees can required leaves for first half or second half. The hours are defined by the start of the day and number of work hours adding on the time tracking settings.
